Three brothers walking the land. Alex, Miguel and Pedro's house

Who we are

Three brothers. Equal footing.

Guidance is real. Worship is not part of the contract. Read the faces. Listen to how we speak about one another.

Alex Wirthl

Alex grew up in the Algarve, in Portugal. He came to men's work after years of leading retreats. Yoga, breathwork, plant medicine: the body as a door. He completed three yoga teacher trainings, a training in nutrition, and several in breathwork. He has seen how a room changes when a man actually arrives.

He is a somatic therapist and one of the three men who founded Men's Academy, not as a throne. For him the work is not a new label for competence. It is the decision to be seen without a mask.

On the land he holds the body of the setting. Presence and precision in the moment a man stops performing, comes back to himself, and is authentic in that.

Miguel Sevilhano

Miguel's work is presence: helping a man feel again, make space for the nature of his emotions, and remember what it means to be human in a tribe rather than a solo performance.

A trauma-informed therapist and osteopath for more than 20 years, and the creator of Vision Quest Breathwork, he brings men back into their bodies and back into community. He is a father, and he will tell you that his own wounds were, and still are, his greatest teachers. He carries the old idea that the healing of one person is the responsibility of the whole. I am because we are. The lone wolf was a season. Circle is the next one.

In the triad he is the man who will not let the room stay in its head. The work lives in the body, in the field, in the quiet after a man has told the truth.

Pedro Collares

Pedro brings a subtle and deeply felt presence to the work through music. For more than a decade, he has walked alongside Indigenous tribes of the Brazilian Amazon, while also learning from and walking the North American Native ways, bringing an ancestral and ritual current to the gatherings.

He co-created the first gatherings with Alex, before the Academy even had a name. From the beginning, the organisation was never intended to have a frontman. The prayer and the gathering itself have always been at the heart of the work, a home where men can come together in circle.

Within the circle, Pedro holds space for presence, remembrance, and integrity: the alignment between what we think, what we feel, what we say, and what we do.

He also carries a deep reverence for our ancestors, for those who walked before us, who carried life forward, and who gave us the opportunity to be here today.

Through music, prayer, and presence, Pedro helps reconnect the circle with this ancestral memory and with the deeper responsibility of walking our path with honour, integrity, and heart.

The next step

If you need a saviour, you will feel the lack of one.

That feeling is information. It is also the beginning of the work.
