Men's Gathering Portugal: The Winter Intensive

A men's gathering in Portugal is a group of men who travel to the same land, sit in the same circle, and work a theme that is larger than any one biography. Men's Academy has used this word on purpose. The November intensive is named a winter gathering. Earlier editions have been a Gathering of Tribes. Gathering says what retreat sometimes hides: you do not come to consume a programme. You come to be part of a field.

The next men's gathering in Portugal is The Call of the Ancestors, 25–29 November 2026, at Monte Velho on the Costa Vicentina. Theme: ancestral roots and liberation.

Why gathering is the right word

Retreat can sound like time off. Gathering sounds like a vow. Men arrive from Portugal and from the rest of Europe. Some have sat with us for years. Some have never sat in a men's circle. The gathering is the moment the house is full, fire, kitchen, dawn, the old stories that still run the family.

What we gather around this winter: inherited beliefs, destructive cycles in the line, honouring what the ancestors gave, releasing what no longer serves, stepping into a freer, more grounded self. The work is ritual and conversation. It is also ice, breath, combat, and silence.

Gathering is not the whole home

If you only come once a year and disappear, you will get a peak and then the old life. That is why the Academy exists around the gathering: online and offline men's circles, foundational training, and a longer facilitator path for the man who is ready to hold this for others without becoming a guru.

A home for men has a door you walk through in November and a table you return to in January.

How to arrive at the gathering

Read the intensive page. Book a call. Tell the truth about why the ancestral theme landed. If it is a fit, a deposit holds the seat. Arrive one afternoon. Leave one Sunday. Let the months after be part of the gathering, not an afterthought.
