When a man doesn't know what he's feeling
When a man does not know what he is feeling, he often says he is fine.
He says he is tired. That he is stressed. That he needs space.
Sometimes it is not tiredness. It is sadness. Fear. Frustration. Loneliness.
What has no name still runs the day
The problem is this: when we cannot see what we feel, we start to express it in other ways. We get irritable. We pull away. We work more. We drink. We take it out on whoever is closest. Or we simply switch off.
Not because we do not feel. Because we never learned to name what we feel. And what we cannot say often shows up as behaviour.
Growing as a man may not be learning to feel less. It may be learning to see more clearly what is happening inside.
You do not have to learn it alone
Being a man is also something you learn. Men's work is a room where the name can be spoken without a lecture. First person. Witness, not advice. The monthly circle is one door. The Call of the Ancestors, 25–29 November 2026 at Monte Velho, is the fire if your body is ready to sit in it for days.
Book a call. We check fit both ways. You do not have to arrive with the right words. You arrive as you are. The Call of the Ancestors is the next intensive. Foundational Training holds the weeks between. Facilitator Training is the long path of holding. Men's circles meet every month.
Questions men actually ask
- Why do so many men say they are fine when they are not?
- Because they were rarely given language for inner life. Tired, stressed, I need space, those are the words that were allowed. Sadness, fear, loneliness were not.
- Is men's work about feeling more?
- Not about feeling more. About seeing more clearly what is already moving in you, so it does not have to leak as irritation, overwork, drink, or shutdown.
- Where do men learn this at Men's Academy?
- In circle, in Foundational Training, and in the fire of an intensive. The next gathering is The Call of the Ancestors, 25–29 November 2026. Book a call first.
